More than 400 people have signed an online petition calling for the Port of Spain International Waterfront Centre to be renamed after former Prime Minister Patrick Manning.

The petition, which was started on change.org by Leisel Thorne four days ago with a single signature, had 461 supporters by Thursday afternoon.

Ms Thorne said the Waterfront Centre was part of Mr. Manning's vision to change the face of the capital of Trinidad and Tobago. She said the construction was also a part of the overall Vision 2020, a government policy attempting to take Trinidad and Tobago to developed country status.

On Saturday, Member of Parliament for Barataria/San Juan, Dr. Fuad Khan, also called for the Waterfront to be renamed.

Jamaican nationals are not being targeted by Immigration Officers.

Speaking on his return to this country after attending the 37th Regular Meeting of CARICOM, Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley once again denied that there is a focus on refusing any particular group from entering Trinidad and Tobago but said there was a need for CARICOM nationals to learn about the rules concerning the process.
