New Immigration Facility At Piarco Airport

The Ministry of National Security, has just completed a new facility geared to providing a space for immigration officers at piarco to question passengers.

After concerns were raised by Jamaica over this country denying entry to some of their citizens, the ministry of foreign affairs of both islands worked to deal with perceptions of ill treatment of travellers at the Piarco Airport.

Since then...talks between the two countries have led to an agreement which includes measures for better conditions at the airport's immigration centre.

A Broken Water Main In Cocorite Causes Traffic

If you thought the traffic heading to west trinidad was quite intense this evening, it follows from this morning's congestion due to a broken water main in Cocorite. The burst main also meant a loss of water supply for some communities.

Communities and local companies are being encouraged to come on board the "adopt a river" programme.

Parents of students currently attending classes at Princes Town Presbyterian No. 2 School, call on the government to immediately constuct a new school.

EMA Sends Fish Samples For Testing In The US

The Ministry of Planning and Development confirms fish samples will be sent to the Food and Drug Administration Laboratory in the United States for testing. The Environmental Management Authority says the matter of fish safety for consumption is of national importance and thus warrants an independent investigation.

EXERCISE "TURBULENCE" IN TRINIDAD

If you were in and around the Tunapuna area on Wednesday, you were probably caught up in a bit of traffic. That's because the ODPM and Tunapuna/Piarco Regional Corporation carried out a special simulation exercise in and around Macoya Junction.

Entitled "Exercise Turbulence 2016," the aim is to test the responsiveness of the emergency services, first responders and ODPM in the event of a natural disaster, major accident, or bio hazard threat.
