Derek Alton Walcott (January 23 1930 - March 17 2017) is a name etched in the annals of history for a brilliant and extensive body of work.

The 1992 Nobel Laureate was a visionary, a poetic giant, a master of the English language and the founder of the Trinidad Theatre Workshop as well as the Boston Playwrights' Theatre.
