Minister of Finance Colm Imbert says the Galleons Passage is currently sailing comfortably at 7 knots towards Port of Spain. This in response to what he called "fake news being circulated by desperate Opposition activists".
The United National Congress is calling for a forensic investigation into the acquisition of the Galleons Passage.
Calling it a glorified water taxi, UNC Senators Wade Mark and Saddam Hosein spoke at a press conference on Sunday afternoon.

A 39 year old man, with no fixed residence, was arrested by officers mere minutes after robbing a 22 year old Piarco woman of a handbag aboard a maxi taxi.
The woman reported to officers attached to the Interagency Task Force, Duncan Street Post that she was in a maxi taxi proceeding along the Priority Bus Route, around 3:45pm on Thursday when it came to a stop.
A man exiting the vehicle snatched her handbag containing a cell phone, a quantity of cash and several documents.
The man escaped by running along Erica Street.
The incident and a description of the suspect were communicated via the wireless, which led to the man being arrested shortly after by officers attached to the Besson Street Police Station, who were on patrol.
A family of eight is calling on the Housing Development Corporation to help them.
The call comes in wake of a landslide, which destroyed part of their Dan Kelly, Picton Street, Laventille home over the weekend.
