The Murder toll continues to rise, following the discovery of two bodies on Saturday.

In the first instance, the body of a Carapichaima man was found with a bullet wound to the head, dumped in bushes off Chickland Freeport.

The man has been identified as 23-year-old Brandon Khan. A white Mazda 3 car was found abandoned nearby. The discovery was made around midday by a passer-by.

Meanwhile, in the second instance, the mutilated body of a woman was discovered at Orange Grove, Trincity. Her hands and feet were severed, and her face burnt beyond recognition.

Police said the body was in an advanced state of decomposition and clad in an underwear.

The woman remains unidentified.

Investigations are continuing into both homicides.

The country's first road fatality for 2018 was recorded in Tobago.

It's not quite an American invasion, but several swimmers and divers from universities in Canada and the United States are here to use the National Aquatic Centre in Couva.
