TT Under-17 Women Defeat Curacao 7-Nil

T&T's under-17 women's team continued their unbeaten run at the Concacaf Caribbean Qualifiers being played at the Ato Boldon Stadium in Couva. T&T hammered Curacao 7- nil on Friday night.
UTT missed the chance to secure the fourth and final big four spot on Sunday, when they lost to the unbeaten Defence Force by just 3 points, at the Jean Pierre Sports Complex. 
 
Jeffrey Harris led the way with 20 points but it wasn't enough for the students. But they will have another chance this weekend, as Ian Wason explains.
 
Kieron Pollard's late over heroics with the ball this time, was not enough as the Guyana Amazon Warriors were able to sneak home to victory by 4 wickets on Sunday night.
 
Powered by a Dwayne Smith 100, the Barbados Tridents made 159 for 4.
 
However Chadwick Walton almost snatched a century of his own as he set the Warriors on course for the win, although Pollard would turn in a superb spell to first take the Warriors captain Guptill then deny the Jamaican his century as he threatened to steal victory from defeat.

Warriors To Meet Reggae Boyz In Friendly

It's a highly anticipated clash between two of the region's big boys as Jamaica's Reggae Boyz come to test the Warriors on August 24th.

Shak Attack was on the sidelines this weekend not being able to play two games in the North Zone campaign.


Reports say the North Zone General Council did not ratify the decision to allow Shak Attack a belated entry in the tournament.

Sources told C Sports if Shak Attack played, then two other teams, Prisons being one of them, should be allowed to play.

Shak Attack Duo Orlando Mapp and Miguel Williams shared with C Sports their views on the matter.

Shak Attack will have to wait and see if they would be able to play, following a decision to be taken by the North Zone General Council at a Meeting later this week.

Ako Pascall scored 18 points in his north zone debut for Caledonia Clippers, but his performance was upstaged by the veteran Steven Ligheter Lewis who scored 29 points in Defence Force 4 point win over Clippers.
 
The game was held at the Jean Pierre Sports Complex on Sunday evening, Ian Wason has more.
