Machel Cedenio completed a hat-trick of men's 400 metres victories at the Cayman Invitational track and field meet, in George Town, late on Saturday.

The Trinidad and Tobago quartermiler clocked 45.10 seconds to secure the top spot, ahead of Jamaica's Demish Gaye, the runner-up in 45.30, and France's Mame-Ibra Anne (45.98).

Cedenio, winner of the one-lap title in 2014 and 2015, produced a strong run in the second half of the race to dismiss Gaye's challenge.
