Kwesi Browne finished a creditable second at the prestigious Fastest Man on Wheels event in Trexlertown, Pennsylvania.
Browne, of Arima Wheelers Cycle Club, finished second in his heat early on Friday afternoon, and needed a repechage to advance further in the grueling elite men's keirin event.
He duly went on to beat a host of top class riders in heat five of the repechage to secure a spot in the top six to contest the final.
There he showed his class and speed, as well as tactical awareness, to finish a close second to the winner from Canada in Hugo Barrette.
Only last week Browne finished sixth in the match sprint event, while national teammate Njisane Phillips was fourth on the same track at the valley preferred track.
