Local club Central F.C. is safely through the top tier of the Caribbean Club Championships after topping Group 'B' over in the Dominican Republic.

The TT Pro League outfit booked a fourth consecutive CCC Finals spot after a hard-fought 1-0 win over hot-tempered hosts Atlántico F.C., with the only goal of the game coming on the hour mark through a Yoan Melo own-goal, as the ball deflected off his leg and in.

The ill-tempered affair saw the home team miss a penalty, had a goal disallowed and then saw defender Vesion Murillo red-carded in stoppage time as they exited the tournament.

Coach Stern John was thrilled with the result, even as he acknowledges that there is much work to be done for the next phase of the tournament.
