Trinidad and Tobago women blanked the Dominican Republic 3-0 to get their group `C' qualification series in the NORCECA Women's Tournament off to a winning start on Friday evening.

TT won the match 25-16, 25-7, 25-9, to complete a dominant performance. But they will oppose Costa Rica on Saturday in what is expected to be the most important volleyball match in the history of the sport in this country.

The clash at the Cycling Velodrome in Couva should determine which team qualifies for next year's World Championships alongside Mexico.

The top two from this four-team group C will earn tickets to compete in Japan next October in the biggest tournament after the Olympic Games.
