The U.S. National Team was sweating ahead of their crucial clash with Trinidad and Tobago tomorrow night, not about their opposition as much as the playing surface at the Ato Boldon Stadium.

When they showed up for training on Monday morning, they were met by soggy conditions which sent up the alarm bells.

Bruce Arena's team needs a result on Tuesday night to confirm its qualification to the World Cup, but the edges of the pitch at the Ato Boldon Stadium were flooded on Monday, causing some in the U.S. camp some anxiety.

The conditions forced the majority of the team to train behind the goal in an attempt to preserve the playing surface.

U.S. officials were discussing the playing conditions with the TTFA officials as to whether the game could proceed, or be shifted to another venue.
