35 of this country's best junior CARIFTA athletes will head to Barbados to compete against the best the region has to offer on October 7th and 8th.

The team is coached by Derek Simon who believes his charges will do the country proud despite the limited time they have been training together. What helps the team is that they are all experienced campaigners in the sport Simon added.

President of the Trinidad and Tobago Triathlon Federation Paul Hee Houng says based on the number of kids involved the future of the sport is bright.

Also present at the team's final training session to lend support to the team was Minister of Sports Darryl Smith who praised the team for its hard work and pledged his support.
