The Ministry of Works and Transport wishes to advise the public that there will be a temporary traffic disruption along the Diego Martin Highway between 0.1km and 0.3km in the vicinity of Victoria Keys. This has become necessary to facilitate the construction of a culvert crossing across the Diego Martin Highway. Work will commence on Friday August 4th, 2017 at 8pm.

August 1st, 2017 Kent House, Maraval – The plans for local government reform have been moving steadily ahead, with the Task Force on Local Government Reform conducting sensitization sessions for each Municipal Corporation. Both Council members and staff are invited to these sessions in order to ask questions and voice concerns regarding the Draft Policy on Local Government Reform which was accepted by Cabinet in August 2016.

July 31st, 2017 Kent House, Maraval –On Saturday 29th July, 2017 the National Volunteer Network launched its first Orientation Session in the Borough of Chaguanas.

The Ministry of Finance says it has taken note of misleading statements made by former Minister in the Ministry of Finance Mariano Browne on a radio programme on Friday.
 
The statements were regarding the reason why the CL Financial shareholders refused to extend the shareholders' agreement with the government. 

PORT OF SPAIN (ILO News) – “There are no reported cases of child labour in Trinidad and Tobago but this does not mean that it does not exist,” says Minister of State in the Ministry of Education, Dr. the Honourable Lovell Francis. He was speaking at the opening ceremony of a two-day seminar titled: School-to-Work transition for the Prevention of Child Labour.

The Judicial and Legal Service Commission says it is in the process of updating all its annual reports and this will be completed before 1st October, 2017.  
 
In a statement the JLSC said it acknowledged that the annual reports in respect of the years 2008 through 2015 are outstanding.
