Over the past year more than 2500 reports of crimes against children were made to the Child Protection Unit.

A report released today said between May 2015 and July 17th this year, there were 2595 reports made to the unit with 520 of them before the courts.

Acting Superintendent of Police Odette Lewis, who is the Head of the Child Protection Unit, said sexual penetration was the most prevalent serious reported crime against children at a rate of 30% of all cases.

Airports Authority of Trinidad and Tobago (“the Authority”) advises that the two Security Check Points which serve the International Departure Gates 1-7 and 8-14 separately, will be relocated and merged into one central position to serve all Gates at the Piarco International Airport. This centralisation of the International Security Check Point will be activated on Wednesday July 27th 2016 at 12 midnight.

The Telecommunications Authority of Trinidad and Tobago (the Authority) notes recent media publications and commentaries with regard to increasing rates for subscription television (pay TV) by local providers and the corresponding concerns expressed by consumers on the proposed rate increases.
