Sacha Thompson Appointed Chairman Of Digicel Trinidad & Tobago, John Delves returns as CEO

TUESDAY OCTOBER 25 2016: PORT OF SPAIN, TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO - Sacha Thompson has been appointed to the position of Chairman of the Board of Digicel Trinidad and Tobago, it was announced today.

Taking her place as CEO of Digicel Trinidad & Tobago is a familiar face in the form of John Delves who returns after a stint with Digicel Group in Jamaica.

Sacha Thompson has enjoyed a stellar ten year career with Digicel, the total communications and entertainment provider. From her start in 2006 as Marketing Manager, she has served in several capacities including Head of Marketing; Marketing Director; Chief Operations Officer and then finally Chief Executive Officer. Thompson will also remain as a Director on the Digicel Trinidad and Tobago Foundation Board in the role of Secretary.

John Delves meanwhile has eight years’ experience with Digicel across several senior leadership roles in the Asia Pacific and the Caribbean. He previously served as CEO for Trinidad & Tobago from 2012 to 2015, before heading to Digicel Group where he served firstly as a Regional CEO and subsequently as Group Chief Commercial Officer. John will also have oversight for the Digicel markets of St. Lucia; Grenada and St. Vincent & the Grenadines.

Digicel CEO for the Caribbean and Latin America, Vanessa Slowey, commented; “Trinidad and Tobago has always been a very dynamic market. Sacha and John have between them a wealth of experience and knowledge and have steered the course in bringing significant developments to the business. Since inception we’ve invested TT 10 billion dollars in Trinidad and Tobago and currently employ 1100 staff. This year alone the company invested TT 1.5 billion in the new TV/Broadband/Home Phone service.”

She continued; “We’ve moved the business to now being a total communications and entertainment provider with the addition of Digicel Play and have been recognized by Ooklaas the fastest 4G data and broadband provider in the country. Digicel Business and its Fibre to the Business solution has also been acknowledged as the fastest broadband connection in the Port of Spain area. We expect the team to continue to lead the way in delivering best in class service, network and value to the people of Trinidad and Tobago with John and Sacha at the helm.”
