October 18, 2016 – His Worship the Mayor Alderman Haji Kazim Hosein has announced that the last day for the collection of items for the Help 4 Haiti Charity Drive will be Thursday 20th October, 2016 at 6:00pm.

“We want to ensure that all items get to Haiti as soon as possible, so we are diverting all our volunteers to continue with the sorting and packing of containers at the Victoria Village warehouse,” said the Mayor, “The response from the public has been fantastic thus far, and our volunteers have been coming out every single day to man the various collection points across the country, but we must now direct all our resources to the sorting and packing phase to ensure that those in need can benefit from these donations without delay.”

All sorting and packing activities will take place at the Edoo’s Warehouse in Victoria Village. Skilled loadmasters are being sought to instruct volunteers on how to appropriately pack items onto the containers, and donors are invited to contribute packaging materials such as labels, clear garbage bags, cardboard boxes, shrink wrap and pallets.

For anyone interested in lending assistance with sorting and packing, kindly contact 652-0449 or email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. for further details on how to volunteer.
