The Trade Ministry is set to honour international Calypso icon Calypso Rose through a workshop.

On the heels of her recent achievements under the auspices of Because Music, one of Europe’s top music labels, Trade Minister Paula Gopee-Scoon and senior ministry officials met with Rose.

In a release it was stated that the meeting was “an effort to ensure that the wealth of knowledge and experience gained over the years” by Calypso Rose passes on to future generations.

This is to be done through the Trinidad and Tobago Music Company (MusicTT) who will design and implement a music workshop in the form of an information sharing session in early 2017.

Minister Gopee-Scoon is quoted as saying to the living legend ‘we want the young people of Trinidad and Tobago to know you; and we want your help to develop the local industry’.
