Makandal Daaga O.R.T.T was one of the powerful voices and forceful personalities of our time.

While his voice was probably the most heard during what is widely called the Black Power Movement of the 1970s, his fight against inequality commenced long before, and continued long after that period.

In the course of pursuing the liberation of all of his fellow men, he left an indelible mark on the country’s national consciousness.

I take this opportunity to extend condolences to his family. May Almighty God grant them solace and may his soul rest in peace.
