January 22nd, 2018 Kent House, Maraval – Minister of Rural Development and Local Government Haji Kazim Hosein is calling on the Public Health Departments and Litter Wardens in all fourteen (14) Municipal Corporations to tackle the problem of illegal dumping across the country.

January 19th, 2017 Kent House, Maraval – Minister of Rural Development and Local Government Haji Kazim Hosein along with officials from the Ministry will begin touring completed, ongoing and proposed project sites for infrastructure to be developed in every Municipality under the Public Sector Investment Programme (PSIP). The first stop will be in the Princes Town Regional Corporation on Monday 22nd January, 2018.

The winner of this year’s Chutney Soca Monarch will walk away with $300,000 in cash as a first prize, while the second and third place will get $100K and $70K respectively. All other competitors will receive $35K each.

The Minister of Finance has taken note of an article in the Newsday of Friday January 12th, 2018, with the headline “Slow Boat To ‘Bago”. The article claims that the Government is negotiating with a company in Singapore by the name of Singapore Technologies Marine Limited to purchase what the newspaper has described as a very large and fancy cruise ferry, built in Singapore, and equipped with a helicopter landing pad and entertainment facilities, among other things.

Prime Minister Dr. the Honourable Keith Rowley and Mrs. Sharon Rowley visited Dr. Jean Ramjohn-Richards and her family today (Thursday 11 January, 2018) to personally extend condolences on the passing of former President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, Professor George Maxwell Richards.
