First Peoples Food And Craft Fair

The fourth annual First Peoples Food and Craft Fair took place in Arima on Sunday, where patrons had the opportunity to peruse an array of booths which showcased the various cultural offerings of the Indigenous Peoples.

The event was hosted by the group "Partners for First Peoples Development' with a hope to strengthen an appreciation for the community's contribution.

Relatives say she passed at her Maraval home, just before 7 on Friday evening. She was 91.

Mrs. Gonsalves first joined Radio Trinidad in August 1956 and will be remembered as the host of Listen Ladies.

She was also "Mrs. Frico" on the promotional programme "Frico for Me" in the late 1950’s.

Man Killed By Stray Bullet

A shooting in San Fernando has left one man dead and an injury count of four.

Dead is 64 year old Stephen Pope, who died after being shot at Hashtag Bar on Cipero Street. While four others were reported injured in this instance, it is believed Mr. Pope was hit by a stray bullet.

Works and Transport Minister Rohan Sinanan has set a deadline of early 2019 to have much needed repairs on one of the main connecting bridges in Manuel Congo Old Road completed.

As he toured the La Horquetta Talparo constituency on Saturday morning, Minister Sinanan assured residents that measures are being put in place to maintain access to and from the community.
