Oilfields Workers Trade Union Secretary General Ancel Roget is saying the Union will not tolerate the sale of Petrotrin. He says the workers are not at fault for the situation Petrotrin finds itself in.

Police are investigating the shooting death of a man in Barataria on Sunday morning.

The incident took place at around 2am.

The victim has been identified as Ravi Seecharan of Seventh Avenue, Malick.

Police said officers of the Morvant Criminal Investigations Department were on mobile patrol along Lady Young Road when they heard several explosions.

Upon investigating, they saw the body of a man lying on the ground near Industrial Estate Road.

 

And in an unrelated incident, two people were arrested and a firearm along with a quantity of ammunition seized by officers of the St. Joseph CID and the Northern Division Task Force.
This was done during an anti-crime exercise conducted in the St Joseph district between 2am and 5:30am on Saturday.

Officers said they had cause to stop and search a vehicle proceeding east along Oliver Trace, Mt. D’or when they found one black Smith and Wesson pistol outfitted with a magazine containing five rounds of 9mm ammunition in the centre console of the vehicle.

The 21 year old driver along with another 20 year old suspect were arrested in connection with the find.

Caribbean Airlines Launches "Caribbean Cafe"

Caribbean Airlines has announced the launch of "Caribbean Cafe", an in-flight snack and beverage catalogue featuring only locally made products from Trinidad & Tobago and Jamaica as well as premium blends produced in Guyana.

From September 1st, customers travelling on intra-Caribbean and international flights operated by the airline's Boeing 737 fleet will have the option to purchase an array of sweet and savoury snacks, along with beverages ranging from non-alcoholic to premium alcoholic options.

There is no word yet on when the construction of a new central block at the Port of Spain General Hospital will be started.

According to Minister of Health Terrence Deyalsingh the Urban Development Company is working on the tender process.

122 patients from the Central Block of the Port-of-Spain General Hospital had to be relocated over the past two days due to structural concerns.

Over 200 Centenarians In T&T

There are over 200 centenarians in this country and many more are expected to live past 100 years.

T&T And Venezuela Sign Gas Deal

Trinidad and Tobago and Venezuela have signed a deal where this country will purchase gas from Venezuela's Dragon Field.
