Finance Minister Colm Imbert says government needs to make serious decisions on our State Enterprises like T&TEC and WASA as they have been owing suppliers. They are more and more dependent on government transfers. WASA has been demanding more from government. WASA annual shortfall between revenue and expenditure is in excess of $1 billion.

Former Prime Minster Kamla Persad-Bissessar wants Finance Minister Colm Imbert to say how this budget's policies will be different from the "broken promises" of the past budget. She estimates that the budget will be between $55B - $60B.

Former Health Minister Dr. Fuad khan believes none of what was promised in the 2015/2017 budget for the Health Ministry was fulfilled, so he's hoping to see those same promises kept in the 2016/2017 fiscal package.

He also wants the plans that the previous administration had for the minstry to be fulfilled as well.
