St. James home firebombed

An investigation has begun into whether arsonists are randomly targeting houses in Quamina Street in St. James after the attempted firebombing of a family home in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

Residents were awoken around 1:30am to the sounds of what turned out to be six Molotov cocktails being thrown against the house.

The fire  didn't turn into a massive blaze due to the quick thinking and actions of neighbours who got the family of five out and extinguished the blaze before the fire brigade and police arrived.

The incident came just four weeks after another house was hit by fire bombs.

In both instances, the two houses sustained slight damage but no one was injured.
