The Beetham Gardens Community Council has apologised for the behaviour of some residents of the community on Tuesday.

The Council issued a statement publicly apologising to the MP for Laventille West, Fitzgerald Hinds, and the Councillor for the Laventille/Picton area, Akil Audain, for what it described as the despicable behaviour and gross disrespect shown to their office and to themselves as human beings.

The Beetham Gardens Community Council completely distanced itself from such behaviour and assured the public that this is from but a few and in no way speaks for the community of Beetham Gardens.

The Council expressed a wish to assure friends of the Beetham Community that their continued presence in the community is safe and welcomed.

On Tuesday, the Laventille West MP and Acting Attorney General was chased out by some residents who threw dirty floodwater at him as he attempted to take a firsthand look at the effects of the heavy rains in the area.
