New National Security Minister, Stuart Young, says he is in the process of getting familiar with his post.

He noted at Thursday's Post Cabinet Media Briefing that, in this new portfolio, he took the opportunity to contact Journalist Khamal Georges who was mugged by criminals on Thursday morning.

Minister Young said after commiserating with Mr. Georges and getting information on the incident, he informed top police officers. The Minister said when crime touches a close relative, it seems doubly horrendous.

He assured the public he is committed to dealing with crime. Mr. Young said, however, he is not ready to reveal the plans he is now creating but soon he will be able to inform about the approaches he will take to make Trinidad and Tobago safe again.
