Minister Young Refutes Nafeesa's Claims On Muslim Backlash

Public Relations Officer of the People's National Movement, Stuart Young, says it is unfortunate when people try to divide the country based on religion.

His comments follow a statement made by former Deputy Political Leader of the PNM, Nafeesa Mohammed, that the party's Barataria bye-election loss was a backlash from the Muslim community.

Mr. Young said while there's much to be learnt from Monday's bye-election, the Government will continue to work in the best interest of the country.
