Ste. Madeleine Man Arrested For Possession Of Protected Animals

A 22 year old Ste. Madeleine man was arrested by officers of the Moruga Police Station and South Game Wardens for possession of protected animals and clipping the wings of protected animals.

This was done during an anti-crime exercise conducted in the district between 8am and 12noon, on Saturday.

During the exercise, officers executed a search warrant at a house located at L’anse Mitan Road where they found and seized 30 white-eyed parakeets, 12 blue and gold macaws, 8 black-headed parrots, 1 macaw, 1 capybara and 2 red-footed tortoises.

The man, who was in the house at the time of the exercise, was arrested in connection with the finds.
