$4M Worth Of Cocaine Discovered On Pirogue

Four million dollars worth of cocaine was seized by the Trinidad and Tobago Coast Guard after being discovered on a pirogue during a drug eradication exercise.

The exercise was conducted in the vicinity of Patos Island in the Gulf of Paria, on Thursday.

Two male Trinidadian nationals and one male Venezuelan national were also apprehended during the exercise, when nine packets containing 10.1kgs of the drug were found aboard the vessel in which they were travelling.

Officers of the Organised Crime and Intelligence Unit were contacted in relation to the seizure and investigations are continuing.
