Police are investigating the murder of infamous gang member, David 'Baby Bandit' Ector, following an incident in Carapo.

According to reports, several gunshots were heard along Simon Road shortly before 8am on Wednesday.

When police arrived, they found Ector dead, and several spent shells nearby.

Ector had recently claimed there were men who wanted to kill him after he was arrested for jumping a fence at the Piarco International Airport and appearing on the airstrip.

He was also one of several people who were held for the murder of Senior Counsel Dana Seetahal. However, Ector was not charged with the murder but rather the offence of being a member of a gang - a charge which would later be dismissed in 2016.
