Machel Montano Receives An Award

Soca King Machel Montano has been honoured for his work in promoting Caribbean music.

On Friday the seemingly unbeatable road march champ was recognised for his contributions at the Los Angeles Second Annual Caribbean Recognition Day event.

In an Instagram post, Montano expressed thanks for the recognition. He said he was honoured.

The award in its second year was created by the L.A. City Council to recognise and celebrate the culture of nearly 40,000 immigrants from the Caribbean who reside in and contribute to the City of Los Angeles.
