Four Murders Recorded In 24 Hours

Police were very busy over the past 24 hours as four murders were recorded.  

29-year-old Akiel Joefield died after being shot near La Habana Bar on Ariapita Avenue around 11pm on Friday. Joefield, of Chafford Court in Port-of-Spain, was taken the Port-of-Spain General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

In another incident, 25-year-old Keston Charlton James was found unresponsive in a Nissan car on Calvary Hill in Morvant.  Neigbours said they heard gunshots just before he was discovered bleeding in the vehicle. He too was rushed to hospital but was declared dead on arrival.  

50 year Clint Regis was found dead in Windy Hill, Arouca on Saturday. Officers responded to a report of gunshots at midnight by residents but were unable to find anything. They returned and found his body at around 11am.

In the fourth incident 25-year-old, Shawn Paul was fatally shot in Valencia. At around 10:30pm on Friday, Paul was near the Valencia Market when he was confronted by a man he knew. He was shot several times. He was taken to the Sangre Grande hospital, where he died while undergoing treatment at 1:30am.
