The new Trinidad and Tobago Television station will commence operations in August 2018.

The confirmation came from the Leader of Government Business, Camille Robinson-Regis, who answered a question on behalf of Minister of Communications, Stuart Young, during Wednesday's sitting of the Lower House.

MP for Fyzabad, Dr. Lackram Bodoe, asked the Minister to provide a timeline for the establishment of the new TTT Channel.

Further questions were then asked by the MP for Naparima, Rodney Charles.

Trinidad and Tobago Television (TTT) was a national television broadcaster in this country that was launched in 1962. The station was closed at midnight on January 14th 2005.

In August 2017, the then Minister of Public Administration and Communications, Maxie Cuffie, announced that the State Broadcaster, Caribbean New Media Group, would be wound up, and TTT would be returning.
