The man accused of shooting a Scotia Bank employee as he entered the bank's branch at High Street San Fernando has appeared in court.

30-year-old David McAllister of Fyzabad appeared before San Fernando Magistrate, Alicia Chankar, who read the charge of robbery with violence.

On May 14th, 26-year-old Rostan Mahabir, of Carapichaima, was heading to work at Scotiabank at the corner of High and Penitence Streets, when a gunman confronted him.

The man shot Mahabir and snatched his laptop bag before escaping on foot.

Mr. Mahabir was taken to the San Fernando General Hospital with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. Mc Allister was not called upon to plead as the charge was laid indictably.

The matter was adjourned to June 22nd.
