A total of 177 officers have been added to the Trinidad and Tobago Prison Service.

At a Passing Out & Induction Ceremony for Batch 576, Commissioner of Prisons Gerard Wilson noted that 2018 marks the 180th anniversary of the service in this country.

Batch 576 is the first batch to be exposed to Introduction to Spanish for Criminal Justice, a course created for the TT Prison Service.

Commissioner Wilson urged the new officers to be diligent when executing their duties.

Minister of National Security Edmund Dillon told the new inductees that it is imperative that there is a safe and secure prison environment for prison officers. He, however, called on the officers to be professional at all times.
