A woman was fatally stabbed in San Juan on Wednesday afternoon.

According to eyewitness reports, the woman, later identified as 27 year old Anita Bahadur, was walking in the Croisee when she had an altercation with a man at around 2pm.

The suspect stabbed her several times in the neck before attempting to flee.

Onlookers were able to apprehend the man, and beat him into submission before handing him over to the authorities.

Their vigilante action unfortunately would not be enough to save Ms. Bahadur's life, as she was pronounced dead at hospital a short time after the incident.

She is the 14th woman to be killed this year.
