Counseling For Children On The Increase Due To Violent Crime And Murder

The high murder rate has taken its toll on the youngest in our society, with over 200 children receiving counselling from the Victim and Witness Support Services Unit of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service, due to the murder of a relative.

This was announced in the Upper House by Senator Dennis Moses, who, on behalf of the Minister of National Security, gave a breakdown of the figures.

The Port of Spain Division had the most cases, with 58 children receiving counseling since October 2015.
