Regional airline, LIAT, has been commissioned to assist in transporting passengers to and from Tobago while the local ferry service is suspended.

Caribbean Airlines Limited says LIAT will operate a wet lease service on the domestic air bridge between Trinidad and Tobago from March 19th to April 30th, and Government will underwrite the cost of the wet lease.

This arrangement, CAL says, will enable the national airline to provide the additional capacity needed on the air bridge at this time.

CAL says the aircraft will be used solely for domestic operations until April 30th, 2018.

Following the suspension of the inter-island ferry service, Caribbean Airlines has been collaborating with the Port Authority to ensure passengers holding confirmed ferry tickets are accommodated on CAL's services.
