Member of Parliament for Tabaquite Surujrattan Rambachan said the Prime Minister suggested, back in August last year, the deal to secure the Cabo Star was crooked.

So today he is wondering why no action has been taken.

The Cabo Star is the only cargo vessel in service between the two islands and it has also been doubling up as a passenger ferry. However, Mr Rambachan is not in agreement with the extension of the contract for the Cabo Star to continue operating after July.

Joining the Tabaquite MP at the late morning media conference was Couva North MP Ramona Ramdial, who called for a budget for the Tobago Jazz Festival. She said over the last 13 years, the event has used up TTD$150 Million, and estimates this year the bill could be close to $20 Million.

She also echoed the call by members of the Tobago business sector to cancel the event.
