Transforming the National Quarries Company Limited into a profitable State Enterprise requires there to be a cultural shift in the attitude of workers.

This from the company's Chairman, Ulric Warner.

Speaking before a Joint Select Committee of Parliament set up to investigate the efficiency of State Enterprises, Mr. Warner said low worker morale was one of the main reasons for their current financial plight.

He said the Board has already begun to address this, by way of communicating with lower level staff so they are aware of the company's current standing.

This shift in attitude, he said, is needed from the top come down.

Mr. Warner said the Board has already begun to see a change from both upper and lower level staff since addressing the issue.
