Explosions Heard In The Nelson Street Area In Port-Of-Spain

Reports of several explosions in the Nelson Street area in Port-of-Spain Sunday afternoon.

CNews understands that around 3:30pm residents of Nelson Street reported hearing several loud bangs which they believed to be gunshots.

CNews contacted Assistant Superintendent Ajith Persad to verify this information. Mr Persad told us officers attached to the Port-of-Spain CID and Besson Street Police Station responded to the call.

He said no injured persons were identified, however, the officers did recover some spent shells on the ground at the corner of Nelson and Prince Street.
