Fatal Shooting In Morvant

Police have identified the man who was shot and killed in Morvant on Saturday night.

Initial reports identified the victim only as "Jah", however officers confirmed to CNews that the deceased is 20-year-old Jewari Joseph.

At around 11 o'clock Saturday night Joseph of Oliver Street in Morvant was said to be walking along Mattapal street with a group of people when they were approached by a gunman, who fired shots in Joseph's direction. 

The rest of the people escaped unharmed but Joseph was hit several times about the body. He was taken to the Port-of-Spain General Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival. 

Homicide officers of Region 2 visited the scene of the crime and are said to be continuing the investigation.
