Classes at the Carapichaima East Secondary School are one step closer to resumption, this as Cabinet has granted the approval for a release of 2 million dollars to fund infrastructural repairs needed at the institution.

Students have not had classes at the compound since the start of the school term on January 8th, due to a pigeon infestation which resulted from faulty ceilings.

Form 5 and 6 students of the school are currently attending classes at Chaguanas North Secondary, Waterloo Secondary, Carapichaima West Secondary Schools and at the Chaguanas & Couva Public Libraries.

The Education Minister Anthony Garcia is expected to ask the Education Facilities Company Limited (EFCL) to tender for contractor for the project to start repairs within another two weeks.

The ministry predicts repairs should be completed within one month.
