The debate on the Private Motion to suspend the Operations Contract to A&V Oil and Gas Limited, pending investigation into the situation, continued and closed in the Senate on Tuesday.

Minister of Trade and Industry, Paula Gopee-Scoon, along with other Government Senators, argued that continuing the debate was unnecessary as the contract had already been suspended by Petrotrin over the "fake oil" fiasco.
