A Malabar man is dead after a home invasion on Monday night.

Twenty two year old Dominic Koon Koon was fatally shot when a gunman stormed his family's house at Koon Koon Trace at around 9:40pm.

Police reports state that loud explosions were heard outside the house, followed by banging upon the front door of the residence.

A gunman later entered the home and was immediately confronted by several members of the Koon Koon family.

They were eventually able to disarm the gunman, but not before his firearm discharged twice, hitting Dominic Koon Koon in the chest.
