The Tobago Regional Health Authority has launched investigations into two recent Tobago deaths.

A release on Friday said Health Secretary, Dr. Agatha Carrington, had ordered the management of the TRHA to conduct a comprehensive investigation into the circumstances surrounding the deaths of Petronella Neptune and Tricia King, both of whom died within a short period after receiving medical care.

Ms. Neptune and Ms. King died on the 5th and 10th of January respectively.

The release said Secretary Carrington was committed to equity and social justice in the delivery of all aspects of healthcare.

As such, the findings from this investigation will be used to ascertain the level of care delivered to both clients and inform the necessary corrective actions to be taken, if any, to avoid any future occurrences.

The Secretary extended condolences to the families of the deceased.
