South Police Probe Homicide - Woman Shot And Burnt

Investigations have been launched into the death of a woman in a fire at Purcell Street in Vistabella.

The woman, identified as Lana John, is believed to have been shot before the fire started.

The burnt home is said to be the site of a drugs, arms and ammunition find less than two days ago.

According to police, at about 2:30am on Thursday, residents of Purcell Street heard several loud explosions.

About 10 minutes later, they observed flames inside a home along the roadway.

The burnt remains of the woman were later found in the gutted house.
