Machine Guns Found In Vistabella

An anti-crime exercise in the Vistabella district, which began early on Thursday, uncovered two machine guns among six firearms and a large amount of ammunition along with $125,000 of marijuana.

During the exercise Officers of the Inter-Agency Task Force and the Organised Crime and Intelligence Unit were at work searching an abandoned structure at Purcell Street in Vistabella.

They found one Mac 10 Machine Gun, a Mini Uzi Machine Gun, four Glock Pistols and one gun silencer with 16 rounds of 12 gauge cartridges and over 220 rounds of 5.56mm ammunition. 

Marijuana weighing 12.5 kilogrammes was also found. 

No arrest was made in connection with the finds.
