South Accident Leaves One Dead & Another In Serious Condition

One man is dead and another has been hospitalised following an early morning accident along the Cross Crossing Bridge on Saturday.

According to reports, 25 year old Ian Smith was driving a Linda's delivery truck at around 5am having just collected unsold items at a nearby branch.

However the routine would turn tragic for Smith and his co-worker Asfa Joseph as the truck crashed into a pillar along the bridge.

Smith died at the scene of the accident while Joseph was taken to the San Fernando General Hospital.

She is listed in a serious condition.

In a statement Linda's Bakery confirmed the accident is currently under investigation.

The Company said the family members of Smith and Joseph have been contacted and they are working to give them full support. 

Linda's Bakery expressed shock and sadness over the incident.
