Colin Lucas New Chair Of NCC

A new Board of the National Carnival Commission (NCC) was unveiled on Friday.

The Board will be chaired by former Soca artiste Colin Lucas, who had spent much time in the past decade as the General Manager of the Port Authority of Trinidad and Tobago.

Joining him will be Ainsworth Mohammed, as Deputy Chairman, and Members Dr. Susan Burke, Gervon Abraham, Jacqueline Springer-Dillon, Darian Marcelle, Lutalo Masimba and Keith Diaz.

Minister of Community Development, Culture and the Arts, Dr. Nyan Gadsby-Dolly, gave the Board Members their Instruments of Appointment at a brief ceremony at the Ministry's headquarters on Friday. The new NCC Board will serve for two years.

New Chairman, Colin Lucas, indicated that the new NCC Board will focus on planning and analysis, and assured the Minister and the wider national population of their commitment to the vision.
