At this week's Post Cabinet Media Briefing, Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister, Stuart Young, expressed his disappointment in commentary on social media, and even traditional media, concerning the Prime Minister's visit to China, which was official cancelled.

He clarified that the event Prime Minister Rowley was initially invited to in China is simply no longer taking place, but the Prime Minister has now been invited for an official visit next year.

Minister Young also spoke on Government's rental expenditure, noting that there has been a monthly saving of $3.2 million in its first year of office. He addressed the matter after a "recent resurgence" of the Auditor General's Report for the PNM's first year in office.
